App Troubleshooting

This section helps you resolve common app issues, including notification problems, reinstalling the app, or switching phones, so you can stay connected and complete your surveys without interruption.

What do notifications look like?

What happens if I delete the app or get a new phone?

If you accidentally delete the study app, don’t worry — you can re-install it. When you do, our team will give you a new code so your account connects correctly.

If you get a new phone, please uninstall the app from your old device before installing it on your new one. This helps prevent duplicate surveys from being created. Once the app is on your new phone, just reach out to us and we’ll provide your updated code so you can continue right where you left off.

Trouble Getting Notifications?

If you are not receiving survey notifications from the study app, here are some steps to try:

  • Make sure you have accepted all app permissions for Insight.

  • Turn your phone’s volume up and make sure it is not muted.

  • Keep your phone charged with at least 20% battery.

  • Update Insight to the latest version.

  • Turn off sleep mode.

  • Turn off Do Not Disturb.

  • Turn off battery saver.

  • For iOS users: turn off the Attention Aware feature.

  • Disable any app blockers or Focus Mode.

  • Make sure notifications are allowed on your lock screen.

  • Note for iOS: Insight will not audibly ring if the app is open in the foreground. Instead, you will see a banner notification.

If you’ve tried these steps and are still having issues, please contact the study team for support.
